Before the avenue is empty
I started this record because I could not sleep. That is the truth of it. The city was quiet in a way it rarely is, and I wanted to press that silence into sound.
We worked between one and five in the morning. After that, the trucks begin and the spell breaks. The streetlamp on Lexington flickers in three-second intervals — it became our metronome.
If this album finds you driving home alone tonight, I will consider it finished.
